Wimbledon are (nearly) back, baby! And it’s all down to the fans.
After a shite start to the new millennium which included relegation from the Premier League, moving from South London to Milton Keynes, entering administration and then just completely renaming themselves MK Dons, Wimbledon might finally be going back home.
Founded by former Wimbledon supporters, the aim was to always get back to Plough Lane which was the club’s original ground from 1912 – 1991.
In 2017, they finally got the go ahead to build a new stadium just 230 metres from the original ground with the aim of kicking off the 2020/21 season there – with only one small ask… Two million quid. Easy…
Well, it shouldn’t be but after just three hours of the Crowdfunder being open, AFC Wimbledon’s loyal following had already raised over £750,000. Outrageous.

You can donate however much you want and the perks start cheap. For example, donate £10 and you’ll get your name on a wall of the ground and you’ll be entered into a draw to be in with a chance of getting the ground named after you for a selected game during the season – it’s worth doing just for that alone.
I don’t think it matters who you support in this situation – drop The Dons a cheeky fiver, for God’s sake make sure it’s cheeky, and help this amazing club get back home.
