Oh boy, I’ve been waiting to get around to this one. It’s the biggie… Providing you support a team in league two.
Everything about this league is fantastic, promotion at any level is amazing but it’s the other end of the table that has something that no other league does – the risk of losing your football league status. Terrifying for any club no matter what level, because within a few seasons of poor management it can happen to anyone.
Let’s get into it.
Promotion

Salford City, Port Vale, Bradford City.
Play-off Winner: Plymouth Argyle.
Now, have I included Port Vale because I support them and because every season I hope and pray for a campaign better than the one before? Well, the short answer is yes. But John Askey as brought in some decent signings and I think we could surprise a few people. However, I do feel that Salford will win the whole thing. I saw them play quite regularly last season and they were by far the best team in the National League. Don’t be surprised if they win back-to-back promotions and the best part? You’ll be able to see 99% of their games on Sky. I wonder why…
Relegation

Macclesfield, Leyton Orient
Macclesfield are shit, there’s no two ways about it. And no, I’m not just saying that because of the aforementioned allegiance to Vale because a little local rivalry is great. Macc got very lucky last season as they found themselves in a relegation battle with possibly two of the worst teams that this league has ever seen. They won’t get that luxury this time around. As for Orient, they’ve had possibly the worst summer that any club has ever experienced. The tragic loss of Justin Edinburgh has impacted the club massively and I think they’ll struggle. I really hope that they pull it off, especially after the past five years that they’ve had.
There you go, place your bets. If you lose, it’s not my fault – you’re an idiot for actually taking my advice.
